This standard 8mm diameter slip lead is small enough to slip into a pocket, but at the same time it produces a definite checking action and so is great for reinforcing heel work; if the dog pulls, the slip tightens around the dogs neck, but as soon as he walks nicely to heel, the slip loosens off and becomes comfortable again. The handle, leash and collar are in one piece, so the dog can't slip the leash, but when it is removed there's no annoying collar.
This model of slip lead features not one but two stoppers made from deer antler. As you can see from the photos, there is one stopper on either side of the end of the lead which 'slips'. This means that you can more accurately control exactly how tight or loose the collar part of the slip lead can become, and for this reason, the double hornstop slip lead is particularly popular with puppies and young dogs. The stopper is also useful to restrict the size of the collar part of the lead if you need to tie your dog up, avoiding any sudden escapes!
Firedog make their slip leads by hand from the finest quality extra-durable polyamide climbing rope. The two adjustable reindeer antler stops are an added feature, and the eyelet through which the leash 'slips' is made from stainless steel for maximum durability.
This lead is available in 2 lengths: There is a more 'average' 130cm length and a longer 150cm length, which is useful either if you like to wind the lead around your hand, or if you are walking multiple dogs then the longer lead is great for the dog furthest away from you.
